Scientists from Mexico have Successfully Make Cement Can Be luminous

Maybe we are familiar with the term glow-in the dark, because a lot of stuff around us that have the ability to light up in the dark. But the ability to burn from objects such as t-shirts, bracelets, and others can not last long. Now a scientist from Mexico managed to find cement that can glow in the dark.

To find cement, Scientist Jose Carlos Rubio, of Mexico University of San Nicolas de Hidalgo took nine years and he had recently patented a cement glow-in-the-dark hers. So what are the advantages of the cement?

Dr. Rubio believes that it could be a new way to illuminate the city, the streets and buildings that do not require electricity, because the only thing that is emitted during the production of water vapor.

This is a long process. The hardest part of it is the opacity of cement, which he discovered the trick is to remove the flaky crystals which occur as a byproduct in the production method, which is done by changing the microstructure of cement.

It does sound quite difficult to understand, but the results are very impressive, where the cement can shine for about 12 hours, and lasts up to 100 years. The emitted light can be green or blue color, and the brightness level of the cement can be adjusted depending on the intended use.

"Because of this patent (the first for the university), others have appeared all over the world," says Dr Rubio. "In Britain, we received the recognition of the Newton Fund, which is awarded by the Royal Engineering Academy of London, who chose global success in technology and entrepreneurship. "he continued.

The whole process is also reportedly quite friendly environment, and can provide illumination for pedestrians enough when walking at night. In addition, the light-the light generated can also beautify the streets.
